Swarovski Computer – Most Expensive Laptop

Actually, most expensive laptop ever must be not only Swarovski-studded, but also made of gold, encrusted here and there with expensive diamonds, with the display all made of sapphire crystal, just like we’ve been accustomed by the luxury cell phone manufacturers.Talking about expensive laptop, here you have a relevant example that might horrify you, so you’d better be careful! Looking at the picture, I surely understand why people are sick and tired of so many gadgets that are aimed at the fairer sex and I couldn’t blame anyone for having such an opinion, which, as a matter of fact, I am sharing with them.

Ok, people are different, which means they like all sorts of things, but this isn’t a justification for the bad taste. And they usually need something luxurious to make them feel different, to make them feel like leaving their mark on the things they use on a regular basis. The Ergo FashionNote mini-notebook is a laptop adorned with approximately 1,444 Swarovski crystals.

LOS ANGELES, June 27 (UPI) -- The red and black leather jacket U.S. pop star Michael Jackson wore in his "Thriller" music video has been sold at auction for $1.8 million. The zombie-themed clip was for the title track off of Jackson's wildly popular 1982 "Thriller" album.

EW.com said Texas businessman Milton Verret bought the piece of music memorabilia Sunday.Verret said he intends to display the jacket at an Austin children's hospital, then will send it on tour to raise more money for youth-oriented charities, the entertainment news Web site reported. The Hollywood Reporter said the iconic garment was expected to sell for around $200,000 at the sale, which was overseen by Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Jackson died June 25, 2009, at the age of 50. His doctor is awaiting trial on involuntary manslaughter charges for allegedly administering the anesthesia and sedatives that killed the singer whom he was attempting to treat for insomnia.

Unique ‘Plug MP3 player’

There is no difference between the "Plug MP3 player” and the normal plugs in appearance, people will mistake it for a plug if there’s no control panel, it’s just a simple MP3 player in function and control panel is similar to the iPod shuffle, it also has a LED indicator and can be charged when connecting the power supply, surely a very creative design. Focus of the design lies in its unique shape and convenient charging. Designer: Giha Woo.

Ping Pong Bat Hotel in China

The Chinese keep surprising us, some days ago we posted an article on the entire Austrian village that is being copied in China, which is off course pretty crazy, but the following might be even crazier, a hotel in the shape of a Ping Pong Bat!It looks pretty cool, but according to Jin Chang, director of Huainan Municipal Bureau, an upside down Ping Pong bat also has a perfect architectural shape for a hotel (not sure about that ). The top will be a viewing platform, in the middle there will be rooms and the bottom half of the ping-pong bat will be used for conferences.

This 150 meter tall hotel will be built in Huainan city, and is part of a future Olympics park. It isn’t the only building in the shape of a sport attribute. Other future buildings in this area should include an athletics stadium in the shape of an American football, a volleyball shaped aqua complex, a soccer ball shaped gymnastics stadium and a basketball shaped soccer stadium. Why the soccer stadium isn’t shaped as a soccer ball remains a mystery … Crazy Chinese

The Solar-Powered Bikini

New York-based designer Andrew Schneider spends about 80 hours each week stitching photovoltaic mini-panels into bikini forms with conductive thread. If you think you’d like an iKini (that’s right–an iKini), be prepared to drop about $200 for the custom-fitted swimsuit.

Each suit comes equipped with four hidden pockets for carrying anything from a cell phone to an iPod to… something else that needs charging. And if you’re worried about getting your iKini wet, don’t be–as long as you make sure the suit is dry before plugging in your device. “You wouldn’t even feel the charge,” says Schneider.

Fearless Cleaners

You need nerves of steel to be a window cleaner in Dubai. When this worker spotted a mark on an apartment window, he just had to pop out to give the glass a quick wipe with a squeegee. Nothing odd about that – except that the apartment was located 400ft up on the 34th floor of a tower block in Jumeirah Beach, Dubai. He stepped out on to the narrow ledge and, holding the frame, stretched across to wipe away the annoying smudge. As he takes his life into his hands, at least he has the sense to hold on to the window frame, even if it is by his fingertips, as he goes about his task.(Link)

Man builds the world’s tallest sandcastle

Ed Jarrett received confirmation from Guinness World Records Wednesday that he has broken his own record building the World’s Tallest Sandcastle at Winding Trails in Farmington.

That was expected, with the castle standing at 38 feet, .75 inches on May 20 in may, based on a height survey conducted by F.A. Hesketh & Associates, Inc. of East Granby, but there was an unsuspected drop in height to 37 feet, 10 inches.

This is the third time Jarrett, director of golf and operations at Farmington Woods in Avon, has broken the record for world’s tallest sandcastle, and his second bout breaking his own record. In 2007, he built a 31-foot-6-inch sandcastle in Maine and raised over $100,000 for charity during the process. He first broke the record in 2003, also in Maine, at 29 feet, three inches, breaking Finland's record.

Oldest light bulb still burning after 110 years

LOS ANGELES: The four watt bulb, installed in a fire station in Livermore, California, has been declared the oldest known working light bulb by the Guinness Book of World Records.

The bulb was a gift from a businessman in 1901 and with the exception of a brief period in 1903, a week in 1937 and some power outages between then and 1976, the light has remained on.

Lynn Owens, the chairman of the town's light bulb centennial committee, said that the light's longevity has baffled scientists. He said: "Nobody knows how it's possible. It is a 60 watt bulb and it's only turned on for about four watts but nobody knows why it keeps burning.

"We've had scientists from all over the country look at this light bulb. Of course nobody has ever been able to touch this it," he added. The bulb has become a major tourist draw for Livermore and a celebrity in its own right. Comedy Central's The Colbert Report did a comic feature for the bulb's 110th birthday.
