Stuart Hughes, a British designer, teamed up with Hebanon by Fratelli Basile Interiors of Nocera Superiore to make the most exclusive bed in the world: the Baldacchino Supreme, priced at £4 million or around $6.3 million.The bed is hand-made of 107 kg of solid 24 carat gold and it also features small decorative applications which resemble gold leafs. According to the designer, the luxury bad is curved from the best quality ash wood.But that’s not all. There is the fabric, that is all the finest Italian silk, and the headboard can be customised with diamonds or other precious stones.
Stuart says the bed is so exclusive and only two will be ever made.
“I’ve never worked on anything like it. It’s the sort of thing only the super rich can afford – billionaires who have everything. The bed is stunning,” said 39-year-old Stuart, who has already sold one of the beds to an Italian businessman.The Baldacchino Supreme stole the crown of world’s most expensive bed from Parnian Furniture’s bed worth $210,000.
