Confederation Bridge



The Confederation Bridge spanning the Abegweit Passage of Northumberland Strait, linking Prince Edward Island with mainland New Brunswick, Canada. It was normally known as the “Fixed Link” by people of Prince Edward Island prior to its official naming. It was constructed between 1993 to 1997, estimate $1.3 billion. The 12.9-kilometre long bridge opened on 31 May 1997.
